Situation analysis: Continuous rainfall in North-West Syria over the past week has caused significant destruction, particularly in the IDP camps, stretching the already dire living conditions for thousands. The storm has resulted in widespread consequences, damaging tents, shelters, roads, and critical utilities. As winter persists, the situation remains critical, and there is an expectation of further heavy rain in the upcoming days. As of now, there is still no effective response on the ground, but reports indicate the mobilization of some resources to mitigate the impact on the lives of IDPs. Recent reports indicates that a total of 415 camps across north-West Syria has been impacted on different levels, leaving tens of thousand of families in urgent need of assitant. It is crucial to urgently scale up humanitarian response aid to reach those in need, as IDPs in camps depend entirely on assistance from the humanitarian community. Moreover, efforts should be directed towards the restoration and strengthening of infrastructure, especially during this challenging season.
